SACRAMENTO, CA.- The Mexican Cultural Center of Northern California proudly
presents the lecture “An Evening with Frida Kahlo” a lecture presented by Gregorio Luke
Frida Kahlo, a Mexican artist was born in Mexico City, in a suburb of Coyoacan. She is internationally known for her self expressed portraits of her personal physical pain. Her paintings, clothing and her life were influenced by indigenous cultures of Mexico. She was married to the famous Mexican muralist Diego Rivera, whose approach to art and politics suited her own. In the last two decades an explosion of Kahlo-inspired films, plays, jewelry has transformed the artist into a veritable cult figure.
Mr. Gregorio Luke, former director of the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, California, is an expert in Mexican art and culture. Mr. Luke holds a Master of Arts Degree in Communication Studies specializing in Film and Video from the American University in Washington, D.C.
Gregorio has a unique style of presenting his lectures. His passionate style of delivering his lectures captives his audience. At this lecture he will walk you through a journey of a controversial Mexican woman artist, Frida Kahlo.

You can purchase your tickets in advance at the Mexican Cultural Center from 8.20 to 2.00 PM, Monday to Friday. The Center is located at 1010 8th Street, Suite 101, Between J and K Street. Ticket $20.00 per person.
Also, tickets can be purchase at the door on Wednesday, March 26. Doors open at 4.30 PM.
